About Scott

Scott Kimpson was formerly the senior advisor for the Regulatory Principal Department at 1st Global, where he was responsible for a wide range of suitability-related issues, including the review and approval of securities transactions originated in the field. He also helps to provide training within the department, assists with regulatory inquiries and escalations, and answers questions regarding suitability, policy and regulatory issues. He began his career at 1st Global in 2008 and enjoys being part of an environment full of people who bring a smile to his face each and every day.

Scott comes to his new position with 20 years of industry experience in so many roles of service to advisors and their clients it is hard to name them all. Scott has opened new accounts, funded new accounts, taken calls as a client services representative, represented branch offices during state and federal regulatory office examinations, and acted as internal sales support while holding himself to the highest standards of service and accountability. Scott believes effective communication, knowledge, responsibility and accountability are the hallmarks of a successful service organization.

Scott received his Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of South Florida and loves working in the financial services industry because he believes finance is “the lifeblood of our economy.” Prior to 1st Global, he gained valuable experience at Raymond James and Associates in its fee-based/managed assets sector before transitioning to the independent platform of Raymond James Financial as a compliance advisor. After his time at Raymond James, he had the privilege to supervise multiple producing branches, constantly taking pride in the service he provided to his financial advisors and their clients. He appreciates that in his work at 1st Global he is able to learn something new every day and use the knowledge he has gained along the way to help solve every issue that presents itself in the best way possible, with a focus on service. In his nearly 20 years in this industry he has never stopped increasing his knowledge; he is a Certified Annuity Specialist (CAS), and has passed his Series 7, 24, 53, 4 and 66 exams.

Scott lives in a suburb of Dallas with his wife and their three daughters. In his free time, he loves to spend time with his family and also enjoys coaching girls’ basketball, chess, and brushing up on his history and trivia knowledge. He is also quite the funny guy — in fact, he has been told by more than one professional comedian that he could be a comedian himself
