Founded in San Diego as the Institute of Certified Fund Specialists. Launched the CFS® designation.
Launched CES™, growing the designation portfolio.
Expanded beyond funds into new specializations. Renamed to the Institute of Business & Finance.
Converted to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Launched CAS® and CIS™. CTS® followed in 2003.
Added CDFS™ and CSS™ for specialized planning areas.
Complete rebuild of all eight programs. CDAS™ launch.
